Founder Steven M. Roche’s road to success wasn’t easy. Growing up in a family that all worked in the trades, it was all but inevitable that he’d find his way into them as well. His career started as a commercial carpenter working in Philadelphia. However, the demanding work environment contributed to burnout and a battle with alcoholism. In 2018, with the help of his faith and community support he began the journey towards sobriety and building a new life. SMR Design & Build was born and is stronger than ever today!

Since we began, SMR’s business model has been rooted in our strong values. As faithful stewards of God’s blessings and resources, we consider it our duty to provide our community with unwavering support and share our skillset with those in need. In addition to our construction services you can find us out in the community, working with groups such as Waters of Revival Homeless Ministry to bring safety and security to all.
